Who we are:
We are the Doods Winston and Copper! Our moms name is Payton aka the one who is our groupie and loves to post all about us. People always ask me why I post so much about our dogs, so I figured this was a good time to explain myself. Picture this you love to share about your life, favorite things and your dogs. BUT you hate getting ready and having to edit pictures of yourself. What better solution than to use your dogs who are always cute to showcase all of your favorite things without you having to always be in front of a camera. I definitely viewed this as a win and never expected it to take off like this! But I definitely wouldn't trade it for anything! Every-time I get a message from someone sharing their dog that looks the same or telling us they got a puppy because the love watching Copper and Winston together just warms my heart and makes it all worth it!
So let's start month by month and go over some things! We will go into more details of some of our adventures in different posts to share all the details!
January: Copper turned 8 months! It blows me away to always watch him grow because when we got him he was only 8 pounds then by 8 months he was 53 pounds. How that happens I don't know, but it blows my mind daily. We went for lots of walks because even though it was January we had hardly any snow (to Winstons disappointment).March: We first got our Spot and Tango food and switched from regular kibble. They are absolutely obsessed with this food and Winston was finally able to loose all the winter chub that he had acquired. During March we also took the dogs snowshoeing! This was Coppers first time and he did great! My favorite part about taking them is how they are running through every giant snow pile in the beginning and by the end they walk directly in your footprints. Overall beautiful views and great time! So blessed to live 30 minutes away from this place.
We also went to a lot of track meets with the dogs. Overall review- they love to come hangout and see all the runners. They do not love the starting gun and because of this like to demand to be held whenever possible.
April: We packed up the car and took the dogs down south for a quick camping and canyoneering weekend. They honestly love this because they get complete freedom for days with all the animals and smells. We did have to squeeze 2 people and 2 giant dogs in the back seat of my 4 runner which was less than ideal, but the dogs stacked and made it work! We took the dogs on a hike the first day that wasbeautiful and it was so nice to feel the warmth again since it has been so cold and snowy at home. The second day we embarked through a canyon we had done before. But unlike when we had done it earlier it was full of ice water and snow which created added difficulty. This is where we used our doggy zip line over the puddles and our rappelling skills to make it a successful trip. After that trip a well needed haircut was done by our favorite bark towne groomer! Copper shrunk down half his size with a haircut and they both looked and felt amazing.
May: It finally got warm! May was pretty relaxed! I wrapped up with teaching school for the year and worked myself back into being a full time dog mom. We had lots of nights sitting outside by our fire pit and hanging out with friends! We even took the dogs our to our friends property in Wallsburg where it is just a breathtaking beautiful green field with acres for the dogs to run. Within an hour of us being there Copper had rolled in so much fresh cow poop he was actually green. If he came within a 20 foot distance of you the smell would make your eyes water. After a quick bath in the river and a very intense and deep bath when we got home we had happy clean dogs.
Wow writing this actually made me realize how much we have actually done as of lately. We are loving living our lives with our two doods. We can't wait to share more of our adventures with you all!
Thanks for reading!
